then and nowBuilt in 1870, the Forester’s Lodge initially comprised a single building – which currently functions as the restaurant and “Gaststube”. In 1899 the residing forester’s wife gained a grant allowing her to provide concessions to hikers and people passing through. Over the decades the original lodge underwent many additions and renovations. In 1974 the Bouffier family gained ownership of the simple forest inn, thus laying the cornerstone for the present-day Forsthaus restaurant. Christa Bouffier, a trained restauranteur, cared for her guests with highly personal service, regularly updating and improving the growing menu. Her husband, Helmut Thiele, met Christa while attending a hunters gathering at the Forsthaus. To date, Herr Thiele makes sure that the Forthaus’s guests receive only the freshest game. Since 2007, the Forsthaus Rheinblick welcomes the next generation of ownership: Maik Schulze, nephew of the Thieles, and his significant other, Nicole Geyer, now take responsibility for the well-being of the Forsthaus guests. The restauranteur and state-certified specialist in hotel management met each other in the well-known Hotel “Bareiss” in Baiersbronn-Mitteltal. Together the two new-Wiesbadeners have decided to carry on the successful tradition of the Forsthaus Rheinblick, enriching its old charm with new ideas. |
